COVID - 19 and the
2020 Australian Conrad Challenge
It is with deep regret that we announce the cancellation of the 2020 Australian Conrad Challenge due to the complications of the COVID-19 pandemic.
While our event typically rests in the latter part of the year, the uncertainty of information around when we’ll ‘return to normal’ makes planning a growing event more challenging. We’re also aware that when students and coaches return to school in a normal capacity, there are going to be several clashes with making up school work that will make it harder for as many students to engage with the Challenge as much as they’d like to.
Faced with the option of having a Challenge this year that may prove stressful to students and coaches or cancelling this year and ensuring we have a fantastic 2021 event, the choice seemed clear.
This year will be used as a development year for coaches and students who are new to the Challenge or just looking to get more support on how to improve their work in the innovation space. Stay tuned for information about how to take part in sessions with alumni and coaches who are happy to assist our Conrad teams to grow.
The Conrad Challenge is about overcoming adversity and pushing the boundaries of what some consider to be impossible. Our current challenges, while frightening, cannot douse that spirit of innovation and problem-solving. We will come out the other side of this year stronger and more determined than ever to tackle some of the world’s biggest problems. We hope you’ll join us then to help change the world.
